"U.S. Bayonet Letters Patent" by noted author of Knife oriented works Frank Trzaska may be purchased directly from his web page at  http://www.usmilitaryknives.com/ .  This CD-ROM contains over 600 pages worth of original US bayonet patents.  Frank's exhaustive research in this area has yielded an excellent "SOURCE DATA" work seldom available to the bayonet collector or researcher.  You can spend 20 years digging through musty old archives at the patent office like Frank did or you can get the full benefit of his research for under $20 by ordering this work directly from him.  Frank also has many other blade oriented materials available on his web page and I recommend him to all my clients as a source for this type of literature.

"The German S84/98 Bayonet Volume 1: 1908-1933" by Bruce Karem  PICTURE  The first work dedicated solely to Pre-Nazi German S84/98 bayonets often referred to as "Type II" variants.  Bruce did extensive observational research of his own backed up with an excellent bibliography reading like a who's who of German bayonet books.  135 page hardback is lavishly illustrated with color and b&w photographs and destined to be "The Bible" on this subject.    Purchase directly from Bruce by emailing him at bruce98k@hotmail.com

"Collecting Bayonets" by well known bayonet authority Jim Maddox  PICTURE  This long awaited book is a condensation of everything Jim has learned about the hobby of bayonet collecting itself in his 40+ years of collecting bayonets.  This is an extremely useful reference for the beginner that will help avoid some of the very expensive pitfalls of our hobby and has plenty for the most experienced collector as well.  Jim is quoted as a source in most major works on bayonets to be published starting back in 1975 when he provided substantial portions of the information contained in Watt's and White's classic "The Bayonet Book".  Jim shares his collection in full color photos with a focus on providing representative examples of the different types of bayonets collectors enounter with a special focus on including examples that have not been published in any previous book.  Only 1,000 copies were produced and there will be no more after this.  Order direct from Jim by visiting his web page at www.collectingbayonets.com

"Bayonets of Japan" by Raymond LaBar  A most excellent and comprehensive book on the subject of Japanese bayonets.  Done with the benefit of Ray's exhaustive expertise on the subject of Japanese bayonets and with the benefit of 20+ more years of additional research since Larry Johnson's landmark book "Japanese Bayonets".  Ray's new numbering system will be the standard for all Japanese bayonet collectors very soon.  I am proud to call Ray a personal friend and am happy to report that over 500 copies of this new book were sold in the first month it was released.  If you collect Japanese bayonets it is an absolute MUST HAVE book.  It also is configured in such a way as to make "flipping through the pictures" to quickly find a particular variant very easy.  This feature will certainly become standard for all future printed bayonet books.  Order directly from Ray by visiting his website at www.bayonetsofjapan.com

"The Bayonets of the Grand Master's Palace in Malta"  by Graham Priest  The culmination of 11 years of research this softcover, comb bound 94 page book with 244 black and white plus 4 color illustrations, explains how the Knights of St. John gained and stored their bayonets in an armoury from the 1600s to 1975.  Each book is numbered in a series of only 150 so do not delay in ordering your copy.  Order directly from Graham by visiting his web site at  http://www.uppempublications.co.uk/
