DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS if you want to buy something. There's no point sending you something you won't be happy with;-)

ALWAYS INCLUDE THE ITEM NUMBER!!!!!!!!!!!

I often have many duplicate items for sale either on on-line auctions or my web page so a reference in your Email to "German Bayonet" or "Canadian Helmet" won't help me identify what you are writing about.  The item number needs to be included in ALL correspondence so I can identify the appropriate item.  PLEASE include the item number.  If you have questions about an item currently being offered and you don't include an item number I may not be able to respond to your query with anything more than a request for the item number.  I often can't help you otherwise.  Also, DO NOT ASSUME that I will automatically know what you are inquiring about just because it is a rare or expensive item.  I have HUNDREDS of bayonets for sale at all times and even have over 1,000 at times and I can't keep them all straight in my head without the item number so PLEASE DON'T FORGET THE ITEM NUMBER.  Oh, and in case I forgot to mention it, I'd really appreciate it if you would include the ITEM NUMBER with your inquiry;-)

When you wish to place an order or we are corresponding about a deal we are trying to make I'll need some info to figure shipping costs and the like.  At some point I'll ask you to send me the following information:

1)  Your name
2)  Your complete shipping address
3)  Will you use a credit card or other method of payment? SEE "PAYMENTS" BELOW FOR ACCEPTED FORMS
4)  Will you want your shipment insured or not? Your Choice and Your Risk if you decline insurance
 
 

PAYMENTS

NO WIRE TRANSFERS AND NO PAYPAL WILL BE ACCEPTED

I prefer payments by MASTERCARD and VISA directly.  No other cards are accepted.

I prefer direct MC or Visa payment and if you let me know up front that is what you will be using you'll find me more flexible if we are negotiating a larger deal;-)  The merchant fees I incur are small and are far less than my expneses associated with processing any other forms of payment- even mailed money orders.

Regarding MC/VISA payments:  Shipment will take place on the next day that I ship items.  Usually on the Tuesday or Thursday after placing your order.  There is no fee to accept a Mastercard or Visa payment.  I maintain my own PROFESSIONAL MC/VISA Merchant account.

Payments are DUE IMMEDIATELY once I Email your invoice and are considered late if not RECEIVED within 10 days from the INVOICE DATE. This time limit applies to both domestic AND international orders.  If you don't think you can mail a payment fast enough to reach me in 10 days then please plan to pay by Mastercard or Visa.

I MIGHT accept payment by mail in the form of check or money order and even cash if the amount is very small but I reserve the right to refuse payment by mail AT MY DISCRETION.  I almost always refuse mailed payment from outside the USA and if I do accept them on occassion I do not accept non-US checks at all.  All mailed payments must be made out to DENNIS D. OTTOBRE,  filled out completely and signed.  If you send me a payment I can't cash it's the same as not sending payment at all.

I also reserve the right to hold any payment by mail for as long as I see fit for clearance.  It's usually a couple of days to 2 weeks but in some cases I may hold as long as 12 weeks.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAYING BY CREDIT CARD:

By PHONE:  Call in your Mastercard or Visa Number with EXP date AND the last 3 digits of the security number found in the signature strip on the back of your card in to me at 740-498-5787 and leave it on the answering machine WITH THE ITEM NUMBER.  If you'd like to speak to me please Email me and we will arrange a time for me to be at the phone to receive your call.  I am usually available at the phone on weekday mornings from 0800 hrs to 1100 hrs Eastern US Time.

By E-MAIL Send me the Card number in at least two separate Emails for security purposes.  The
first Email should contain the answers to my questions above, the type of card (MC or
VISA)  and the first 8 digits of the card number.  The second Email should contain your
name and shipping address along with the second half of the Credit Card Number plus the
Expiration Date and Security Number from the back.

Feel free to send parts of your card info to different addresses for extra security and it would not hurt if you sent different parts from different address of your own.  I have 3 addresses you may use- otto@eBAYONET.com ,  otto@AmishBaskets.com and ebayonetdotcom@yahoo.com

IMPORTANT: If your billing address for the card is different from your shipping address you need to include the billing address too for card verification.  I use this security feature for YOUR protection. If the address you provide does not match the card verification address I will NOT fulfill your order so please ensure that you provide an accurate billing address for you card.  Please also do not forget the security number.

If you pay by Credit card, your order will ship ASAP (Usually within 1 business day but during high traffic times my post office has requested I limit my shipping to Tuesdays and Thursdays;-)
 

SHIPPING

United States Customers: I generally ship by USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation (tracking label) inside the United States and USPS Priority Mail International outside the USA.  Insurance is automatic but optional and if you don't want it you may decline it at your own risk. You will AUTOMATICALLY be charged for insurance unless you specifically decline it.

If you pay by MC or Visa directly to me you will be charged ONLY the actual cost of shipping at the time your order is shipped.

ALL US shipments will be WITH Delivery Confirmation, NO EXCEPTIONS!  Please remember that when caluculating postage.

Here are some PACKED weight guidelines to help you out.

Bayonets run 2-5 lbs. on average
Helmets run 3-6 lbs. on average
Soft hats and other small items usually weigh less than 1 lbs packed on average

Insignia and other very light and small items will be shipped by first class post upon request.  This is generally $2.00 or less BUT is NOT always trackable and in some cases the US Postal Service does NOT offer insurance for first class mail so it is used entirely at your risk.  Consult the rate calculator above for details and available services.  Additionally, I do not PURCHASE mailers for this.  I try to save and recycle what I can but if there is no "free" recycled mailer available when you order, I'll either have to charge you the actual cost of a mailer or use Priority Mail as the Postal Service provides these mailers free.

If you pay by Mail you will pay 5lbs. Priority Mail rate per bayonet.  If you buy a bunch of bayonets you'll be far better off using MC ro Visa.

Domestic Insurance is as follows:

Up to $50 coverage costs $1.70
Up to $100 coverage costs $2.15
Up to $200 coverage costs $2.60

International Customers: I ship by United States Postal Service and will estimate shipping and insurance rates from their on-line international rate calculator.  You can use it yourself at this link:  http://postcalc.usps.gov/ Insurance is optional and if you don't want it you decline it at your own risk.  Note that insurance is NOT available for all classes of international mail and is not available at all to some destinations.  If you do not specify whether you want insurance or not I will automatically use insured shipping if available.  I strongly encourage my international clients to pay by MC or Visa direct to avoid dealing with estimated postage which will almost certainly cost you more than the actual price.
 
 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON NON PAYMENT

If payment has not been received by the "late" date on your invoice your order may be cancelled and I may either refuse to accept future orders or require future orders to be paid in advance by Mastercard or VISA.  I Email confirmation to you when payments are received so if you don't hear from me within about 10 days of mailing your payment please EM me to find out if it got here.  The better you communicate, the more flexible I will be;-)  No one likes to be kept in the dark.

RETURNS and REFUNDS

Unless otherwise noted in special cases I offer a return privilege on all my items ONLY for the following 2 reasons:

1) I grossly misidentified or misrepresented the item in question.

2) I have grossly overstated the condition of the item.

Be prepared to specify in detail exactly why you wish to return an item.  Requests for returns must be Emailed to me within a few days of receipt.  I'm flexible but a week after the item was delivered is definitely not acceptable.

Refunds will be issued PROMPTLY upon receipt of any pre-authorized returned item in the same condition it was in when I originally shipped it.
